1. Track Screen Time
Most phones show the total screen time per day along with the times spent on individual apps. Starting with seeing how much time you spend on the phone and useless apps may be a huge wake-up call to pick up a new hobby – one that does not involve your phone.
2. Create A Schedule
Plan your day in a way where you schedule a time to use your phone. Check all notifications, reply to messages and do a quick run-through on social media apps within that time frame to ensure you are not aimlessly scrolling throughout the day.
3. Turn Off Notifications
Notifications can disrupt your day and through you off without you knowing. What starts with one innocent reply after your phone chimes can turn into hours of scrolling through various apps. Train your mind to use your phone when you want to.
4. Use “Do-Not-Disturb”
Power through the day with your phone’s Do Not Disturb mode. You truly don’t need your phone with you throughout the day or when you go from your bedroom to the kitchen to the living room. Put it on Do Not Disturb and enjoy some time away from your phone.
5. Turn Your Phone To Grayscale
One of the reasons everyone seems to be addicted to their phones is the mental stimulation they provide. One easy way to be less stimulated is by using phones in grayscale. This will particularly help you sleep earlier and better at night too
